We would like to take this opportunity to give you a little help getting started with your Biotar 58. The Biotar 58 is one of the most popular Bokeh-lenses. It is extremely versatile thanks to its various options. In which situationsdo these photographic options work best? You will need to consider a few things while both setting up the subject of your photo andphotographing.
Creamy-Bokeh
A very creamy bokeh is created at close range with an open aperture and a minimum distance to the subject - e.g. for close portraits or plant shots. Even at relatively close distances, the background blurs and an exceptionally soft bokeh is created.
Swirl-Bokeh
From about 1m distance to the subject, the swirl bokeh appears and becomes even more pronounced from about 2m distance. The background should be 2m or more away. The swirl becomes visible even with only few contrasts.
Soapbubble-Bokeh
The bubble bokeh tends to occur at portrait distances and can also occur with extension rings, for example, in macro photography. For this bokeh, high contrasts or highlights are necessary.
Tip
The Biotar 58 has its highest imaging performance at the usual portrait distance. In appropriate situations, swirl & bubble bokeh can occur together and be combined for creative results.

We would like to take this opportunity to give you a little help getting started with your Trioplan 100. The Trioplan 100 is one of the most famous lenses worldwide for its bokeh effect! Which situations allow you to achieve these photographic blurring effects? You will need to consider a few things while both setting up the subject of your photo and photographing.
Soap-Bubble-Bokeh
To achieve the perfect soap-bubble-bokeh, it is important to position the subject at close range while keeping enough distance to create a high-contrast background.
The particularly sharp-edged, famous soap-bubble-bokeh is only produced at a maximum aperture. You should therefore use f2.8 for the strongest bokeh or f4.0 for a weaker Bokeh effect. The focused main subject of your photo should be approximately 1m to 5m (3.3ft to 16.5ft) away. The distance between the subject and background should be at least 5m to 10m (16.5ft to 33ft).
The closer the focus point to the camera, the greater the bubbles in the background. The stronger the background contrast, the more bubbles appear. Ideally, you should opt for a busy background with strong backlighting such as light-filled trees, lights on a skyline at night, or fairy lights.
Tip
The Trioplan 100 is the perfect lens for use with an extension tube. The much shorter minimum focus distance enlarges the soap-bubbles in the background several times over. In addition, the lens shows close-range subjects in an extremely high and fine resolution.

Which situations allow you to achieve these photographic blurring effects? You will need to consider a few things while both setting up the subject of your photo and photographing.
Soap-Bubble-Bokeh
To achieve the perfect soap-bubble-bokeh, you should work with open aperture (f2.8) and position the subject at a short distance.
It is important to position the subject at close range, approx. 50cm to 100cm (1.6ft to 3.3ft), while keeping enough distance to create a high-contrast background. The distance between the subject and background should be about 3m to 10m. (10ft to 33ft).
The closer the focus point to the camera, the greater the bubbles in the background. The stronger the background contrast, the more bubbles appear. Ideally, you should opt for a busy background with strong backlighting such as light-filled trees, lights on a skyline at night, or fairy lights.
Swirl
The popular swirl is created especially in the close range with sufficient distance to the background.
The closer you focus, the closer the background can be to the subject. For the perfect swirl in portrait photography, you have to find the perfect distance to the background by trial and error - if the distance to the subject is too great, the light points of the bokeh become larger and the swirl becomes indistinct.
In general, the effect becomes clearer if the background is rich in contrast or if you take a photo against the light.

Focus at approximately 0,7 m (2.3ft)
Distance to the background approx. 1m – 10m (10ft – 33ft)

We would like to take this opportunity to give you a little help getting started with your Primoplan 75. The Primoplan 75 is one of the most popular portrait lenses. It is extremely versatile thanks to its various properties. In which situations do these photographic properties work best? You will need to consider a few things while both setting up the subject of your photo and photographing.
Soap-Bubble-Bokeh
To achieve the perfect soap-bulle-bokeh, it is important to position the subject at close range while keeping enough distance to create a high-contrast background. The bokeh effect is only produced at an aperture of f1.9 and f2.8.
The focused main subject of your photo should be around 1m to 3m (3.25ft to 10ft) away. The distance between the subject and background should be at least 2m to 10m (6.5ft to 33ft). The stronger the background contrast, the more bubbles appear. Ideally, you should opt for a busy background with strong backlighting such as light-filled trees, lights on a skyline at night, or fairy lights.
A special feature of the Primoplan 75 is the creation of different-sized bubbles. Different-sized spots of light at unequal distances can cause various sizes of bubbles to form. The foreground can also produce soap-bubbles!
Swirl
Against a strong backlight, the lens tends to form swirls in the peripheral areas.
Tip
The Primoplan 75 is ideal for portraits at a distance of approx. 1m to 2m (3.25ft to 6.5ft). Its soft yet high-resolution imaging gives each portrait a unique appearance. The soft transition from sharpness to blur in the background and foreground is exceptional.

Soap-Bubble-Bokeh
To achieve the perfect soap-bubble-bokeh, it is important to position the subject at close range while keeping enough distance to create a high-contrast background.
The bokeh effect is produced at an aperture of f1.9 only. The focused main subject of your photo should be approximately 1m to 3m (3.25ft to 10ft) away. The distance between the subject and background should be at least 2m to 10m (6.5ft to 33ft).
The stronger the background contrast, the more bubbles appear. Ideally, you should opt for a busy background with strong backlighting such as light-filled trees, lights on a skyline at night, or fairy lights.
Swirl
A clear swirl can appear around the edge with strong backlighting or high-contrast backgrounds. To achieve this, you should experiment a little with the distances between the subject and background. The swirl most commonly appears in the portrait area at distances between 75cm and 200cm (2.5ft and 6.5ft).
Tip
The Primoplan 58 is especially suitable for close-range and portrait photography. It is an impressive lens even aside from the soap-bubble-bokeh, with soft transitions and fine texture.

The Swirl is created using the Lydith 30 at close range with a short distance to the background, as well as for subjects further away with a clear distance to the background.TipThe Lydith is perfect for macro photography or working with extension tubes thanks to its close focusing distance, three-dimensional images, and excellent sharpness at close range.
Tip
Das Lydith eignet sich durch seine Naheinstellgrenze, dreidimensionale Abbildung und hohe Schärfeleistung im Nahbereich, perfekt für Makroaufnahmen oder das Arbeiten mit einem Zwischenring.
